Oh boy, here we go!

It’s not everyday you stumble onto a website where a dream is declared. Lucky for you, you’re in one!

My name is Jonathan and I've been obsessed with stories since I can remember myself. And my dream is to create them for a living.

This obsession drove me to learn English at a young age because I wanted to understand what the hell is going on in that weird game with the cute electric mouse (Ah, the glory days of Game Boy Color). Shortly after came the super heroes cartoons which ignited in me an undying enthusiasm for them!

Spider-Man, Batman, Hulk, Black Panther, all of these amazing characters were blowing my fragile 10 year old brain, they had problems I could relate to, they wanted things like a normal human being and they inspired me to be a better person. The stories were so exciting and full of action they blew everything else to dust. And what’s that? A credits section? People actually get paid to create these stories!? People get to write stories to inspire kids like me?

It was the first time I realized that real humans actually work on these things! Since that realization dawned on me an aspiration burrowed deep into my heart and soul… One day, I'm going to be one of these people. I’m going to write stories and I'm going to inspire people with them.

This site is the digital home for my creative journey, it will show my films, podcasts and comics! It’s not just a portfolio site, it will be an online progress bar for me to share my journey into becoming a professional writer. 

Some background about me, I’ve worked as an indie filmmaker for eight years, I took many (many-many-many) writing courses and have a BFA in Film Production from TAU. Even though I was lucky enough to work in the industry I wanted, I always kept a day job as an IT Project Manager. spending my days managing complex IT projects turned  out to be the perfect training ground for the logistics of indie filmmaking and comic production. Plus, pays the bills and my passions (triple win!)

The blog will the platform to read about my upcoming work, find behind the scenes material and will host “Let’s break it down…” an article series where I will take scenes from movies, comics or prose and break them down to learn what makes them work and what I can learn from them and implement in my own work. Hopefully my experience and insights will inspire others to take their first steps (or continue) on their own creative journey.
